Profile
I, Anne-Marie Wulf, am the owner of SolutionsbyWulf. I’m educated social worker and have been taken diploma degrees in systemic family therapy and solution-focused theory and method. Since 2004, I have been working with a solution-focused approach.
SolutionsbyWulf engages with development and change from a solution-focused approach.
The solution-focused approach
The thoughts and ideas were developed in the mid-eighties by Steve de Shazer and Insoo Kim Berg, the founders of Brief Family Therapy Center in Milwaukee.
Solution-focused thinking is concerned with relations and seeks to support the individual in focusing on his or her own potential in order to experience him- or herself as a more competent and powerful human being. Different clients choose different solutions to the same problem, which means that there’s no connection between a problem and a solution - so it makes more sense to talk about solutions than problems. An alternative solution for the municipality
Every family is unique and deals with difficulties in their own specific ways. Thus, it can be hard for local authorities to target their offers to fit the special needs of every family – and sometimes there is a need for more individual arranged offers. SolutionsbyWulf can function as an alternative in terms of the solution-focused and resource-oriented approach. I offer services cf. The Law of Service in relations to families and children with special needs and vulnerable adults.
Solution-focused therapy
SF therapy is concerned with human development and change. Sometimes an individual can feel trapped in a given life situation and unable to find a way out.
In therapy I outline realistic and concrete goals in cooperation with the client. I do so in order to shape the client’s future life, and with a belief of no direct connection between a problem and a solution I become quite curious of how life would turn out for the client when the problem isn’t present.
Coaching and supervision
Coaching about themes such as job, career, cooperation and personal development are useful when you’re looking for changes but cannot find solutions. When coaching I seek to create movement from a locked situation to a focus on the client’s undiscovered resources in order to construct new and different solutions.
Supervision can be more education-focused and controlling. The context is clearly defined in relation to professional related issues and can either be concentrated around a specific case, professional themes or cooperation challenges.
Seminars and educational courses
SolutionsbyWulf offers educational courses planned in cooperation with the workplace and in consideration of the previous knowledge of the participants.
In general, two days of teaching involves a thorough introduction to the solution-focused mindset and the systematic reference frame as well as some concrete tools to convert and implement the conversation form in practice – it might be easy to learn the mindset, but it’s difficult and takes time to be a good practitioner.
